Glitches on Desktop while DVD Playback

Postby buggy » 09 Sep 2006 13:47

OS: Win XP 32
VLC: 0.8.5 (clean installation)
Media: Any DVD media
Graphics: Radeon X1xx with Catalyst 6.8
Reproducable: yes -every time

Steps to reproduce:
Open VLC.
Open Media:DVD.
Play a bit.
Pause the playback.
Minimize VLC and have a look at your Desktop.
There are glitches with the same color as the video on your wallpaper.
They are gone when you close VLC.

This is a video refresh issue and not particularly related to VLC.

It is possible that you need updated drivers, DirectX or that the AGP or PCIe drivers are not installed.

A good place to start would be to open your Task Manager and look at CPU usage while playing a commercial DVD. There should be no CPU usage! If there is it points to AGP or PCIe drivers.

I have no CPU Usage, and DirectX and PCI-E Drivers are all latest versions.
