Hello,
How can I listen to a DTS file (it was said to be DTS in the torrent site) which has a wav extension?
Thank you!

Can't you just open it with VLC ?

VLC just crashes when I attempt to open.

Ouch, that's bad. Could you upload the problematic file to ftp://streams.videolan.org/incoming along with a small .txt file (with the same name) describing your problem ?

Works fine here with VLC v0.8.5 but not with v0.8.4a.

old version

I was using v. oo.8.4a. With the new version, 0.8.5, everything is ok. Dionoea, do you still need a description of the problem and the file? I think I have clarified it and the shortest file is more than 41 MB.

Thank you all!

If it works in 0.8.5, then it is ok.

Open the file or disk from within VLC and it should work or at least it does for me!

Hi!
I have VLC 0.72 and 0.85 on Windoze XP . I tried to play Dts on both versions, it seems to play it but no sound. My soundcard has no SPIDF. I tried to set the Dts passthrough but didn't work. Not even white noise. I said it seems to play because in the stream info recognized that it's Dts, the bar is moving and the meter is showing the time position.
So I think it might work if I could make it to pass the SPIDF. What did I made the wrong way? Thx
Jedi

DTS works without SPDIF passthrough, check that right Audio -> Audio track is chosen, also check Audio -> Audio device for proper channels.
