Movies play audio but the picture is black

Postby onefasthonda » 05 Sep 2006 04:26

Hey everyone, just recently since I've installed VLC every time I try to play a video the audio plays perfectly but the picture stays black the entire way through no matter what file I try to play. It's worked in the past perfectly. I played around with the settings and if I disable "Use hardware YUV->RGB conversions" in the settings the picture will show up but there will no reds. Literally everything in the movie that is supposed to be red will be blue. Does anyone know what's happening? Thanks.

Try changing the video output module to opengl or GDI (or whatever choice you have in the preferences)
