Selecting Audio Output Device

Postby ryboto » 31 Aug 2006 05:53

Is there an option in vlc that will let me select which audio device to output to? I have a usb headset that I only like to use for voip calls, and I'd rather not have to unplug them to use vlc over my speakers. Most programs that output let me select which device to use, I haven't been able to find the same option in vlc.

I'd like to use VLan to output video and sound files to my Pioneer AX4Asi

I use a USB cable for Stereo output using a USB driver that the Amp Installs on the PC.

The Driver is refered to as "USB Audio Device"

Within Windows media player I can select to use this throught the "tools" "options" "Devices" "Speakers" dialogue box.

Is there a way to do this with Vlan.

I assume this is the same question that ryboto is asking ?

Would appreciate any feedback - :)

Thanks

Preferences, Audio, Output modules, DirectX, "Output device"

You may also need to lock the default device within Windows. The default is unlocked.
