KFI stream url

hello,
I have successfully been using VLC to listen to all kind of streaming content. Mostly radio stations.
But I cannot get VLC Player v8.5 to play this url :
http://69.45.64.76:80/D/814/19771/v0001 ... :44512.asf
It plays fine in windows media player when pasted into the "Open URL" text box, but not in VLC.
VLC message is :
access_mms error: error while asking for file -1
access_mms error: error while asking for file -1
access_mms error: cannot connect to server
access_mms error: cannot read data
access_mms error: error: HTTP/1.0 400 Bad Request
access_mms error: cannot start stream
main error: no suitable access module for `mms://69.45.64.76/D/814/19771/v0001/reflector:44512.asf'

This sounds totaly broken to me...but I know it is not.
I know VLC plays other streams ok.
And I know the stream is live because I can check it with WMV.

This url forces me to use WMV.
I would like to listen to all content with VLC.
I have plenty of other .asf, mmsh, .wmv, & .m3u type shortcuts that play fine in VLC.
This is driving me crazy.
I have tried deforming the url in various ways, have reinstalled VLC
with no success.

Windows XP home, 1.8ghz P4, 768MB flash.

searched for : "streaming problems",
"KFI stream", "http://69.45.64.76:80/D/814/19771/v0001 ... :44512.asf"

I was just flashing on the url above....is VLC changing my http url to mms? If this is the problem, how do I make stop doing that?

thanks for any help I can get on this.

It looks like the stream is encrypted ([00000299] access_mms access debug: 0x01 --> server_version:"9.01.01.3829" tool_version:"" update_player_url:"" encryption_type:"NTLM") which migh explain why it doesn't work.

NTLM Authentication

Well that is interesting.
I guess a better question here is,
how do I manually satisfiy the server with NTLM Authentication,
and still use VLC to hear this media?

By the way, I have never had to register or log in to hear KFI.
So I wonder what unique data is reqired & would it be the same data every time?

NTLM

This stream uses NTLM authentication and it plays fine in my VLC :
mms://a1401.l1976246996.c19762.g.lm.akamaistream.net/D/1401/19762/v0001/reflector:46996
(from post : viewtopic.php?t=21247&highlight=ntlm)

This KFI stream I want to play also uses NTLM but will not play in VLC :
http://69.45.64.76:80/D/814/19771/v0001 ... :44512.asf
or
mms://69.45.64.76/D/814/19771/v0001/reflector:44512.asf

Is anybody able to make these streams play in VLC?

(previous thread : viewtopic.php?t=25830&highlight=kfi)

How do I satisfiy the stream server with NTLM Authentication,
and still use VLC to hear this media?

By the way, I have never had to register or log in to hear KFI.

eh..I meant to start a new thread instead of bumping this one.
should I just leave it like this?
