To the best of my knowledge there is no way to actually trigger the snapshot from the command line. You can select the directory, change the format and change the key that triggers it.

I need it, too..
Was that function perhaps added in the mean-time...
Or is there anybody who can develop me a tool, that can take up to 100 Snapshots of a DVD automatically?

Try gmplayer
http://ffdshow.faireal.net/mirror/mplayer/
Change the output to png or jpeg then all the frames will be saved as an image.

Yes - it works - thank you
But now I get more thousand pictures
Is there any option, to configure the mplayer, that it save only each 100 frame at hard disk....??

thanks a lot
but whats about the output-format (height, witdh for example) of the jpgs.
Can I edit it.
What's about the running-time of the DVD - I want to create one snapshot each minute. Therefore it is neccassery that i know how long the DVD takes.

I don't think that you can change the height or width with any program because it depends on the resolution of the video file.
I think I read somewhere about a program that can take a snapshot every minute, but i can't remeber where or what is the programs name.

Imagegrabber might good. You can set how many snapshots to take from a file
