Windows Vista beta 2 et. al.

Postby nitra » 02 Jul 2006 17:37

By far the best looking video's and support i've managed to get from VLC while running Vista was to set VLC's output to OpenGL of all things.
It works great, even better then the Windows GDI output.
This holds true for 32-bit and x64 editions of Vista.

Dude your 2 cents solved 3 of my main problems with VLC in Vista. First one is that the "Always On Top" option wasnt working, secondly the video was showing in a 256 colour kinda quality in smaller window modes and finally the annoying Aero Theme problem....KUDOS to you!

Thanks a lot

newest nightlies are using new Direct3D output, which should work with Vista.

Nightly builds are kind of unstable these days ... you'd better warn people when suggesting that they use them :) (of course, testing of the new features is appreciated)
