Highlighting multiple files, then clicking play w/ VLC

Postby skyshock21 » 26 Jun 2006 16:55

This is what I usually like to do - highlight a group of music files, right-click, Play w/ VLC. Problem is, this launches multiple instances of VLC all playing at the same time. You can imagine how awful this sounds. With Windows Media player, the same action causes all those files load into a single instance of Windows Media player in a sort of temporary play list. This is the preferred way of launching a media player w/ multiple files.

Now then, you CAN highlight all the files, open a single instance of VLC, and drag them all onto that instance and they will play as described above in a pseudo-playlist the same way WMP works. So why do multiple instances of VLC get launched when a group of songs are selected and queued to play? Is there any way to change this behavior?
