when I turn on VideoLAN on to watch something I cant see any video and all I can hear is audio that skips alot. I dont have a single clue as to what the problem is.

What formats for audio and video have you tried?

Stream and media Information within VLC will provide this.

Also providing the file type(s) would be helpful.
