nVidia true overlay clone

Hi all, I've VLC media player 0.8.5 and a Geforce FX 5500 with ForceWare 84.21.

I need to do a true "clone" view between my two monitor: the problem is with overlayed video, being visible only on the primary display (since it's a very common issue, I won't waste your time describing it!).

I need to have the video overlay cloned perfectly on both display (due to too-long-to-explain reasons I dont want to use the"full screen video" on the secondary display...)

Any idea? TIA!

It is my understanding that the clone feature and VLC do not work for this video card. Further that the overlay function must be shut off within VLC's preferences when using the second display.

The full screen option is your choice.

Wow, disabling "overlay video output" in the VLC preferences did the trick

Thankyou mate! :D

ups - but without video overlay Your performance may suffer...

I would suggest this options:

1. Activate the fullscreen video overlay for the secondary monitor in the Nvidia driver settings and switch VLC to fullscreen on the primary display.

2. Use the video clone function in VLC to generate a additional video output window.

best regards

Danko

No performance problem till now, even with maximum post processing activated.
1. Activate the fullscreen video overlay for the secondary monitor
As i worte in the opening message, this is not an option.

Thanks anyway, I'll keep in mind your hints in case of performance problems...
