VMR9 Video-Output (Bicubic / PS 2.0)

Postby MuldeR » 17 May 2006 22:07

Is there a way to use video-output via VMR9 with VideoLAN? At the moment it seems to be only Overlay. I'm asking this, because in Media Player Classic I can choose "VMR9 Renderless" for video-out, and then select the "Bicubic" resizer. This resizer uses Pixel Shader 2.0. This looks much(!) better than the "normal" Overlay output. Image is much sharper and less washed in fullscreen. So the main reason I prefer MPC over VLC is that.

Any way to support VMR9 in VLC or support planned for future?

VMR9 is Windows only, and VLC is missing Windows Devs at the moment.
VMR9 mode is easy to add. Pixel Shader support is little harder.

That's a pity, because we loose a lot of quality that way.
That mean's I'll have tp stick to MPC+ffdshow...
