Thank you very much , Teetrinker!
First of all , I am poor in programming , if my questions make you agonising , I am so sorry !
When I unzip vlc-snapshot-20051201.tar, I found a text named README.MacOSX. So I think the src is for MacOSX operating system , not for Windows2000 . The idea is right ?

I have another hypothesis :
These src is for every operating system , if you compile it on Windows2000 operating system , the application compiled is only for the Windows2000 operating system ; if you compiled it on Linux OS , the application is only for the Linux OS . What is fact ? I need your help .

This is the case.

It seems, there are no recent snapshots for vlc.
Download the src from SVN or use the latest release.
