How to Select composite from command line on a WinTV PVR 150

Postby Oban » 22 Feb 2006 20:33

I can choose composite or tuner in crossbar selection in the GUI.
But I would like to do it from command line.

Is this possible :?:

I have been searching the forum and it looks like others have the same problem. But I have not seen any solution.

I'm using Win XP and VLC 0.8.4a

It has been added last saturday to the svn. So you should get a nightly build.

Peter, I am hoping you can shed some light on this for me.
Selecting Composite or Tuner form the Crossbar selection? Where is that? I can select a "Directshow" device as the "Conexant Capture", but no where does it specify anything but TV/tuner settings as options.
I'm desperate to show my composite input.

I have played with Graphedit and can get a picture there so it must be possible .... if I can get the right settings?
Chat soon ... :)

0.8.5?

Is it in 0.8.5 then? If so, I'm not seeing how to go about specifying it from the command line in any documentation?[/quote]

Input select

Postby glargo » 04 Sep 2006 23:31

Hi...

To select the input you must put channel=number

0 is to Tuner
1 is to Composite
2 is S-Video

Example:

vlc -vvv pvr:/dev/video0:norm=ntsc:channel=1 --sout-display

you can try with 0, 1 or 2 that depend of the tv card

That won't work on windows though :) (But i'm sure that you can choose the channel somewhere in the directshow preferences somewhere in the windows VLC version too)
