Streaming problem

Postby vlcuser » 02 Feb 2006 15:01

Friends, is there any known streaming problems to VLC? when I tried to stream a video with setting a bandwidth 384kbps, its getting a bandwidth value higher than 384kbps. How can I solve it? Is there any parameters in VLC, that can tune, so that I can achieve a constant 384kbps video bandwidth?

I would think that in order to achieve your desired goal you have given some consideration to the type of file and its bit rate, that you are trying to stream.

If for example, if the VBR of a file requires more bandwidth than is available the end result would be gaps in the stream and the stream would stop, thinking it had received an EOF.

I am using DirectShow videos, thats captured by my webcam for streaming. :!:
And I set the output method as UDP with default port 1234 and Encapsulation method MPEG TS, Transcoding options: Video Codec mp4v, bitrate 384kbps and scale 1. audio codec is disabled, since I need only video, no need of audio while streaming.
But when I tried to stream using these setting over the LAN, the average bandwidth always go higher than 384kbps... bandwidth getting an average value near 550kbps, This is not good....

What happens when you try to use another container (Encapsulation method MPEG TS)?
