Wall image appears brighter

I use the wall feature in vlc quite a lot. I have two lcd's on my desk that are narrow bezzel meant for wall displays. Anyhow I digress...
When I split the video into two columns one of the images always appears 'brighter' then the other one. So one half of the screen is artificially brighter then the other side. I don't quite know how to explain this and just hope that somebody knows what i'm talking about
Has this been fixed in a new version of VLC or is there some way to fix this?
Cheers
