Playing ISO file hangs on intro videos

Hi there, first timer with a problem.
I've been scanning some Blu-Rays into ISO files. With a recent ISO file, I have this problem: it plays the intro video of the manufacturer's logo, and displays the usual card about how the commentaries don't reflect the studios opinions. But the playback hangs on this card, and the progress bar flickers back and forth before seeming to freeze up.
When I try to play the original Blu-Ray disc, I get the error "Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvd:///D:\'. Check the log for details."
Any advice?

'dvd:///D:\'
You're trying to play a blu-ray as a DVD. This can't work.
Menu Media -> Open Disc
Then make sure to tick the correct disc option (Audio CD or DVD, etc) in the Disc Selection and the correct drive letter in Disc Device.
For playing blu-ray discs read and apply this guide, read it carefully and don't miss any step:

Thanks, but something strange has happened.
I've been having the problem playing the ISO file. I mounted the ISO as a disc, and played it with your instructions, specifying it as a Blu-Ray disk. I still got the hang on the "opinions expressed" title card. But, if I let it sit for about a _full, literal minute_, the disc began to play normally. I'm trying it now with the ISO file directly.
I also tried playing the Blu-Ray with your instructions, and got this:
"Blu-ray error:
This Blu-ray Disc needs a library for AACS decoding, and your system does not have it.
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'bluray:///D:/'. Check the log for details."
I'll read through that thread and do what it says, and report back later.
Odd thing is, the disc is part of a multi-disc set for a TV show, and the other discs and ISO files work fine. I'm using Videobyte to scan the discs: maybe I should try the Laewo package for this.

Hello,
Can you please try the following method, using MakeMKV tool?

Don't hesitate to update the post if the situation changed.
