ISSUE SETTING SOUND VOLUME WITH COMMAND LINE

Postby zebulon » 15 Jan 2025 17:11

Hi,

I'm using VLC Media Player, release 3.0.17.4, for Windows.

I'm looking for a way to set sound volume when reading a video using the command line.

According to the help, I've tried different methods :
--waveout-volume
--mmdevice-volume
--directx-volume

But none of them set the correct volume ; for example, if I set in the command line :
--waveout-volume=0.8
the effective sound (when playing by command line) may be 0.5 ; or another value different than 0.8 ; in fact it plays with the volume set (in the VLC interface) the last time I read a video.

If anybody knows the solution, thanks for your help.

Regards,
zebulon
