mpeg-4 multicast

Hi, All,

Can you give me some idea how the mpeg-4 multicast works in VLC?

I tested the VLC for mpeg-4 multicast, the quality of video and audio are very good. From the test, I found the VLC tried to put the mpeg-4 elementary stream of video and audio into the MPEG-2 transport stream packets, then multicast. I am not sure my understand is that right or not.

If I want to read the source code how the mpeg-4 elementary stream is put into mpeg-2 transport stream packets, where should I start?

By the way, which specification tell us how to packetize the mpeg-4 elementary stream into mpeg-2 transport stream?

Thank you for your kind suggestions.

Paul

Hi paul
Did you find the answer to your question ? Were you able to get any documentation on this problem ? I am also looking out for the same answers , so it could be great if you could direct me to possible sources of information which you might have obtained.

Thanks

You can but anything inside Transport Stream files, it is not limited to MPEG-2 only, even if name mpeg-2 transport stream implies so.
