Converted video can't be played

My issue is I've converted an Iphone video into an MP4 in the player. When I export the file it changes to an MP4a extension (the a is not shown in the file name) and says the file cannot be played by the recipient. They requested the MP4 conversion so I'm wondering why a (a) is added and why they cannot play it.

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2)
before you start the playback, keep the messages
window open during the whole process and then paste the
full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com or on Justpaste.it if it's too long.
Also upload a
short sample of your
original problematic file to WeTransfer.com or Disroot.org and then post the link to the file here.
