Can't find my DLNA renderer

I'm new to DLNA but just bought my first renderer (Arylic S10+). The device is confirmed on my network, on the same subnet as my Windows 10 PC. I can cast audio from Windows 10 Media player to the renderer just fine. But I want to use VLC !

I'm running VLC 3.0.20 and want to playback a music file and have the audio come out my DLNA renderer. I click Playback > Renderer but I only see <local>. Below it is "scanning" greyed out, and it's been that way for 1/2 hour.

Do I have to (or can I) manually add the IP of my renderer? Why will VLC not find it?

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, keep the messages window open during the whole process and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com or on Justpaste.it if it's too long.

Here's the log aftering starting playback with verbose set to 2:

Code: Select all

main debug: removing module "microdns" main debug: toggling pause mmdevice debug: state changed: 1 main debug: looking for renderer probe module matching "any": 1 candidates main debug: no renderer probe modules matched qt debug: starting renderer discovery service mDNS renderer Discovery main debug: looking for renderer_discovery module matching "microdns_renderer": 1 candidates microdns debug: mDNS: listening to _googlecast._tcp.local renderer main debug: using renderer_discovery module "microdns" main debug: toggling resume mmdevice debug: state changed: 0
It should see my renderer but I don't (think) it does...

This is the end of the log, not the full log.
As I said, open the messages window BEFORE you start the playback and keep this window open during the whole process.
