Audio track selection not working?

Postby lemming3k » 24 Sep 2024 20:12

I'm trying to re-save a vid with a different default audio track but can't seem to get it to work on this particular file.

It's something I've done before and I would use the switches:

:no-sout-all :audio-track=1

For some reason on this one however it never outputs any audio. I can't see what I'm doing wrong? It's track 2 so I have subtracted 1 as you're supposed to but it's like the audio track doesn't exist even though it works fine on playback.

I've made sure that 'use original audio track' option is unticked (if it is ticked it uses the default track 0, which comes out fine).
I've tried switching from mp4 to mp3 in the audio output options but it's still silent.
I've also tried switch from H 265 to H 264 but it remains the same. Pretty sure I used 265 last time anyway.
I've tried removing :no-sout-all switch and I get a "VLC could not open the mpga audio encoder" error? I've had this on other vids but the :no-sout all switch was what resolved it before.

Have I missed something obvious? Is there another switch or solution I can use without turning to different software?
