Unable to use VLC on Windows 11

I have just updated my desktop to a new Dell Inspiron Windows 11 Computer.
When I download VLC all seems to be well. However when I load a video and play it, a number of things happen.
There is no sound.
My cursor disappears.
Initiating Task Manager does not Work.
I am unable to stop the playback (no cursor)
I escape from this scenario by manually switching my computer off.
Any suggestions?
Bear in mind, I am something of a Luddite.

First, reboot your computer.
Reset the preferences and cache (the manual way):
https://wiki.videolan.org/VSG:ResetPrefs
Uninstall VLC.
Then delete the whole C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\ folder if it's still exists, it might be C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\ if you're using the 32-bit version. Check both folders anyway.
Also delete the whole %APPDATA%\vlc\ folder.

Once done, reboot again and reinstall latest version of VLC, v3.0.21 as of today.

Many thanks.

There was nothing VLC related in the %appdata% folder.

However there were Videolan folders in in Program Files and in Program Files (x86), I deleted both of these.

Reinstalled VLC (it defaulted to the 32 bit version, don't know why).

All is good so far, I tried 2 different movies and both worked fine,

Again, Many thanks.
