Online video controls affect VLC player

Hello all.

A simple but REALLY REALLY annoying issue with VLC player:

If I play music using VLC player and then also watch a video on e.g. YouTube, if I pause that video, VLC ALSO pauses! Why is that and how can I prevent this REALLY REALLY annoying issue please?

Because you are using either the multimedia keys or the keyboard and some hotkeys are the same (e.g., Space for Pause).
You can edit the hotkeys used by VLC in Tools -> Preferences -> Hotkeys

Not using the keyboard my friend. This is purely mouse controlled.

It's a pain in the a$$.

VLC has no control over any browser, I guess you are using some other software which is catching what your mouse sends.
