I just installed VLC 3.0.20 on this Windows 11 Lenovo ideapad Flex 5i laptop for the first time though I am not a first-time user and when it launches, it spawns off center and too large.



I am able to drag it to the center but it fills the entire screen although it is NOT in official full screen mode, even overlapping the task bar.



I am using VLC to have watch parties with an online friend so I require side by side display with Discord and resizing it is obnoxious because I have to drag it around and find the right corner and shiz.

How do I get it to launch smaller and centered or maintain my resize as other apps do?

It's not the skin as it was doing this prior to using one and I went back to the default at least I thought I had.
Resetting preferences didn't work but now resizing doesn't seem to be such a pain in the ass?
