Playback of Blu-ray folder fails

I'm going to Media->Open Folder... and selecting the BDMV folder. Nothing happens, except the title bar flickers briefly. Checking the log, it has errors relating to VIDEO_TS or something similar, as though it's trying to treat it as a DVD.
No luck trying the folder containing the BDMV folder, either. Or with Media->Open Disc... and opening either of those folders while selecting the "Blu-ray" checkbox.

You need to use the Open Disc menu and make sure to tick the correct disc option (Blu-ray) in the Disc Selection, and then use the Browse button to navigate to your folder.

Like I said, that doesn't work, either when navigating to the BDMV folder or to the folder containing it.

You said you are using the Open Folder menu, I tell you to use the Open Disc menu. Read my post again and pay attention to all of the details I've mentionned.

That should work if you have installed the required libraries and files.
Read and apply this guide, read it carefully and don't miss any step:

I can play actual BD discs fine, so I would assume libraries and such are all in place?

Correct, so please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com or on Justpaste.it if it's too long.

So it looks like you're trying to open this BD from a network:
Code: Select all
dvdnav error: Could not open \\192.168.0.171\Path\To\Folder\BD Folder with libdvdcss.
dvdnav error: Can't open \\192.168.0.171\Path\To\Folder\BD Folder for reading
dvdnav error: Device \\192.168.0.171\Path\To\Folder\BD Folder inaccessible, CSS authentication not available.
I'm not sure if it's possible, maybe a dev will confirm that, or not.
