This orange bar in the screenshot below never used to appear. The text saying Volume 91% is normal, but not the bar, it's unecessary, what setting will remove it please?

VLC version I'm using is 3.0.17 Vetinari if that helps (Win10)

This is done by the OSD, you can disable it in the Preferences -> Subtitles/OSD tab.
You need to save and to restart VLC after the change.

Okay ty, but won't that mean that I won't see the volume % text when I change volume? I still want that text, just not the bar.

The OSD is ON or OFF, so it's all or nothing, it's not customizable.

I've been using VLC for years and the OSD only displayed the volume % text, never showed me an orange bar until today

This bar is shown only in fullscreen mode.
