I'm running VLC version 3.0.20 on Windows 10, and this problem just started happening.

When I double click on a file, or right clip and choose "open with VLC", the program will NOT open. It's
set as my default player and has worked perfectly for years.

The only way to play a file is to manually open VLC, then drag and drop a video file on it.

Can anyone help please?

Have you tried after rebooting your computer ?
If it doesn't help then reinstall VLC.

I have rebooted again, and this time it finxed the issue. lol thanks
