How can I configure VLC to exhibit the video and the controls in the same window?

Postby mgrego » 10 Apr 2024 21:08

Hi
I've searched the forum and the documentation but I didn't find an answer to my question. Sorry if it's already covered.

Whenever I start a video on VLC, it opens two windows: one with the video (without any reproduction control) and another with a screenshot and the controls. How can I configure VLC to exhibit the video and the controls in the same window?

I’ve tried several options on the Preferences menu, including “Integrate Video in Interface” and “Reset Preferences”. I also tried to switch from full screen to regular screen and back and even removed VLC and re-installed it. Nothing I did solved the problem. It still shows the video and the controls on separate screens.

I run VLC 3.0.20 (64-bit version) on Windows 11 on a computer with two screens.
I appreciate any information about how to solve this problem.

Go to "Tools --> Preferences --> Video --> Output --> Set to "OpenGL output for Windows".
That should do it.
