DirectShow - vlc

Postby lukagriz » 15 Mar 2024 11:23

Hi,
does anyone have tips on current capture cards that work well with VLC?
Iam looking for capture card that is compatible with VLC through dshow.

I did try several card recently and each of them have some issue:

Avermedia card wont open in VLC at all.

Avmatrix card will open but have big quality issues.

Blackmagic Design DeckLink Quad - this card would be perfect but it have swap colors (I think its ABGR and VLC read it as ARGB - blue is red etc). I did try different chromas but didnt help. If anyone have some idea how this could be solved (or at least what could I try) I will very apressiating ideas.

Hi,
yeah I even saw in bug tracker that there are several topic around this issue.
Sad that even if directshow is standard is have so many variations that can make it uncompatible this way.

Unfortunetly the plugin from doom9 is about output. Like vlc -> HDMI out, I'm looking for solution on HDMI in -> vlc
Thank you for mentioning it though
