VLC volume does not work
Posted: 28 Feb 2024 13:28
In VLC what ever my volume is 0 to 200 the volume stays the same. Sound is on. Also something is wrong with windows volume. Mute works but no adjustment works on VLC sounds.

Hey, sorry to necro a thread, but I'm having the same exact problems as OP. Changing the volume, whether it be in VLC or Windows Mixer, doesn't change the playback volume at all; it just stays the same. I didn't have this problem before, and it started occurring randomly just today. As far as I know, nothing got updated or changed, it just started happening. You mentioned audio pass-through, but I've searched through my settings for both Windows and VLC, and I can't find anything about disabling that. If I swap my audio output to something like my monitor, the slider works; however, if I have it on my headphones (which has its own sound card), the slider does not work.If you are using audio pass-through, then that is expected, and you can thank Dolby and DTS for this antifeature.
