I am trying to run a ,h264 file.

I have updated VLC to version 3.0.20 yesterday
I went into tools
Preferences
All (at bottom) - Advanced setup
Selected Demuxers - h264 video demuxer from right dropdown - Save

Result


Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'file:///C:/Users/tony/Desktop/01.h264.mp4'. Check the log for details.
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'file:///F:/42715688/2024-02-05/13/13/05.h264'. Check the log for details.

Any help please

Selected Demuxers - h264 video demuxer from right dropdown - Save

Keep this setting to Automatic.
It must work with any .MP4 file and should work with most .H264 files but it's always better to embed these raw streams into a container.
