VLC 3.20.0 Vetinari x64 on windows 11 home 22H2 crashes with video post processing filter turned on.

When I start playback of a video the video display gets black, there is no sound and the time index is not running. This holds on for a couple of seconds and then VLC crashes.

Does anyone know what I can do about it or how to investigate further?

The application log mentions event id 1001.

Thank you for your reply Lotesdelere.

I tried Direct3D11, Direct3D9, OpenGL video output for windows, OpenGL video output, DirectX (DirectDraw) and WindowsGDI. They all crashed like I described. I skipped Color ASCII Art and Statistics. Video memory output flashed the window a few times and started playing the audio but no video.

Can you think of something else to try?

Kind regards, Klaas

Reset the preferences (the manual way) and try again:

I deleted %APPDATA%/vlc.
All my favorite video filters work now when I use the Direct3D9 video output.

Thank you very much for your help.

Kind regards, Klaas

Sorry, correction.

VLC doesn't crash anymore but the image properties and sharpen filter don't have any effect now.
