Video encodes with two subtitles for some reason

Postby ekumees » 17 Jan 2024 12:31

Hey!

So I have video files that I downloaded for my mom, she only talks Estonian so I am hardcoding these with Estonian subtitles.
I choose the videofile and a subtitle file, altough when the conversion finishes it for some reason has 2 sets of subtitles. One in estonian and other in english? Why? There is not any subtitle files in the video file folder etc.

Is there any settings that i have to double check?

Thanks for your help! :)

Are you sure one of the subtitles is not already hardcoded into the video ?

Hello! Yes i am sure. This is so weird, because i dont have a second sub srt file anywhere. Only the Estonian language one. So far I have converted 18 movies. I have 23 total and 5 of them have other layer of subtitles for some reason, and I dont know where they come from.
If I watch the movie before converting, there is no subtitles. And after the conversion VLC has placed the subtitles in a way that they dont overlap. So they are surely hardcoded in the same conversion.

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the conversion, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com or on Justpaste.it if it's too long.
