XAVC S 4K not playing

Postby HowL117 » 27 Nov 2023 15:08

Hi there,
I bought a new computer (MSI Katana 15B12V) and VLC (last version 3.0.20 Vetinari) is not able to play vidéo rushes from my camera (XAVC-S UHD) on it. the VLC is flickering in black. And won't even close properly.
PC Specs :
I7 - 12650H
32 GO DDR4
RTX 4050 (last Driver installed)
Windows 11

The rushes are XAVC-S and XAVC-SI UHD and VLC is able to play them on my other PC (an others).
[IN VLC Settings] I tried changing the output to Direct3d 9/11. also tried to desactivate GPU acceleration, nothing helps.

If someone has an idea, i'm listening :)
Thank you

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com or on Justpaste.it if it's too long.

Also upload a short sample of your original problematic file to WeTransfer.com or Disroot.org and then post the link to the file here.

This also happened to me.

On my old computer VLC played XAVC S just fine automatically.

Let me know if there's a solution!

Alex

Same problem, same answer: we do need a messages log and a sample file.
