VLC not displaying Unicode characters when using Universal Plug'n'Play to browse media streamer

Postby half12 » 26 Oct 2023 15:55

Hi
I have my NAS configured to be Media Server, when I browse from Windows and select the NAS, then navigate the folder structure it works normally but if a directory or file includes a Unicode character it is not displayed, it is omitted for example Gᐰte becomes G te and has been present for a long time. This problem does not appear when using a Linux VLC client. However once the file is being played the title including the Unicode is correctly displayed.
Is this a known bug or a limitation of Windows?

TIA
