vlc playlist not playing entire playlist

Sorry I can't think of a good title for my issue.

I create the playlist as expected. View, playlist. I add the files I want. Then I save the playlist. Right click, save playlist. I put 10 files in the playlist. When I open the playlist from the playlist file only 2 files show up. I thought there might be a problem with the playlist file. So I check it in notepad ++. All 10 files are there. Do not understand why only 2 files show up in vlc when I try to open the playlist from the playlist file.

I guess because some paths to the files are not valid.
