VLC player will not play Youtube videos

Hi
I have the latest available 64 Bit version of VLC on a Windows 10 PC/ 16GB RAM, all Windows Updates installed. The problem is it will not play any Youtube videos. If you insert a link, it tries to load, apparently fails and does nothing.
What's wrong?
