Dolby TrueHD+HDMI passthrough?

Postby Mediawatcher » 13 Oct 2022 20:02

I've been trying to get the True HD sound to play on my AV amp using an HDMI cable between the computer and it. The AV amplifier shows that the signal is normal Stereo (what it is not). In the VLC settings, I have enabled HDMI passthrough and for example DTS-HD Master Audio is transferred as is. The system is Windows 11 and the AV amplifier is Marantz NR1510.

Is it the case that True HD sound cannot be passed through to the amplifier, even though DTS-HD Master Audio can do it without problems?
