Hi All,

I'm a VLC newbie so please execuse my questions.

I use VLC (0.8.4a) to play back HDTV recordings (.tp files) made by FusionHDTV. I found a couple of issues with VLC, some of which are specific to HDTV and some are common to other types of recordings. So here goes...

1. Is there a way to save the zoom setting so that VLC always starts with 1:2 zoom?

2. Is there a way to tell VLC to pop up the control panel while in full screen mode when you click on anywhere on the screen, and dismiss it when you click on the screen again? This is a common feature found in all media players.

3. My program counter and clip length are both 0:00:00 for HDTV, and show the incorrect clip length for other recordings. How do I fix this?

4. For HDTV .tp files, is there a way to tell VLC to play the stream with the specified PID (or PIDs) instead of always playing the first stream?

2. The default hotkey is "i".
You can change it in the "Hotkeys Settings".

Another way:
Settings - Preferences - Interface - Control Interfaces - Enable "Interface showing control interface" - save, restart VLC.

To use this feature, VLC has to be in fullscreen then move your mouse to the top of the screen and the control interface should appear.

1. Settings - Preferences - Video - scroll all the way down - set "Zoom video" to "0.500000" Save and restart.

You have to enable "Advanced options" to see this option.
