Gapless play back anomaly

I have a special situation where i NEED to add a 2 second gap between song playback.
Can this be done?

You can insert a vlc://pause:2 item between each item in the playlist.

not sure how to do this.
And I have over 5k songs.
need i do it to each song manually?
