VLC not registering track reordering

When changing the order of audio and subtitle tracks using MKVToolNix, VLC does not register these changes. Plex, on the other hand, immediately registers these changes. I have checked that MKVToolNix is changing the stream order and track numbers using MediaInfo and everything looks fine. I should add that changing the names of audio and subtitle tracks DOES register in VLC, but just not the order of said tracks.

Is this a known issue? How do I get VLC to recognize the reordering?
