How to set Subtitles as Default in Multiple .VOB files Movie Folder

Postby dolfinthemammal » 15 Feb 2022 22:08

Dear VLC Forum Members, I am running WIndows 10 with VLC 3.0.16 Vetinari. I decrypt my backup movies which end up with multiple VOB files for that movie's folder. While watching the movie and at each new VOB file change, I need to choose the proper language subtitle. Is there a way to adjust my settings in VLC beforehand when I watch a movie in this category which needs subtitles so that at each VOB file change, the subtitles chosen in the first VOB file in the folder carries through as the default for all the VOB files in the folder and which make up the movie? Thank you for your help with this issue. Dolfin

Tools -> Preferences -> Show settings: ALL -> Input codecs
The language fields are on the right panel.
For instance for English language type in "eng,en" (without quotes and without spaces) in the audio and/or subtitle language field.
Save the preferences then exit and restart VLC for the change to take effect.
