There is a check box on the error dialog that says Hide Future Errors, and it doesn't seem to work. The error dialog still pops up. What gives?

Try doing the following.

1. Hit Ctrl + P to open preferences and click "All" at the bottom to open the Advanced nenu.
2. In the Search field top left type "Qt" (without quotes) and then click it when it appears below.
3. Remove the checkmark from "Show unimportant error and warning dialogs" (it's about halfway down the right hand panel).
4. Click Save, exit and restart vlc.
