Postby Imageman » 08 Sep 2021 17:14

Windows 10
VLC 3.0.16.0
"Ooops: VLC media player just crashed"

Friends at VLC Forum,
VLC won't start on 2 PC's, can't get past the error message. Uninstalled and reinstalled, same problem. I have no idea what the issue is?

Help appreciated - Bob

Reset the preferences and try again:
https://wiki.videolan.org/VSG:ResetPrefs

If it doesn't help then run VLC with this command line for creating a log file:

Code: Select all

vlc --extraintf=logger --verbose=2 --logfile=C:\vlc.log --logmode=text --file-logging
and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

Make sure you have full access rights to the logfile destination path.

Thank you for your help!

I was able to resolve the problem by doing a complete uninstallation including all settings. The reinstalled VLC app is working fine now!
