Subtitles Issue Please (NOT related to OpenSubtitles.org)

So the other night, I tried downloading subtitles as usual. The green "searching subtitles" bar filled up the screen and then nothing happened. Usually at this point, the search is complete and the found subtitles appear. But now the full green bar just stays there. There is no "No subtitles" found message. There is no Error Message, and I know OpenSubtitles is up and running.
I used a different PC to download the same subs from the same movie, and it worked fine.
I just downloaded the latest version of VLS and rebooted, but still the same issue.
It's getting hung up at the very last moment between the search itself and all the subs being listed.
I didn't change any settings, and it's always worked fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Yes, I can confirm that VLsub isn't working. As a workaround you can download most subtitle .srt files from
https://subscene.com/
You should create a ticket at
https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc/-/issues (
blue "New Issues" button top right). You'll need to create a new account over there and enable 2FA.

Thanks, Hitchhiker. The baffling thing to me is that this issue just started, plus it's on only ONE of my PCs, I was certain that a full uninstall and re-download would work, but nope.

Looks like the problem was down to opensubtitles.org being offline at the time. It's back up and running again now.

Do you get any solution to this problem yet or not?

I don't have a problem with it as can be seen in the image. Do remember to launch VLsub
before starting the movie.

If it's still not working for you reset preferences and then try again:

after resetting it's still not working.
What happens when you click View ---> VLsub? Does the VLsub search window appear?
If it appears, which movie title are you searching for and in which language?
Also, which version of Windows do you have installed and which version of VLC?

Mine is v 3.0.16. I'm using Windows 10, and the reset preferences did not work.
When I click View---VLSub, the regular search appears. the title is typically auto-populated, and I click either Search by Hash or Search by Name. neither works. The green bar moves across the screen and (usually) all the available subs are displayed. This has always worked fine. But...
A few months ago, the subs did not appear. The green bar moves across the screen, but instead of the subs displaying, it stays stuck on "Searching subtitles" I've tried a hundred resets and preferences and delete/re-download. I left the "searching subtitles" on for days at a time (thinking it might just need extra time) Nothing has worked!

Bumping this, because so many of us still face the same issue!

Bumping again. Same problem going on 3 years with no resolution. VLC "searches" for subtitles and I see the green bar go from left to right all the way. Then it just stops, Does NOT display the subtitles. As if it's searching forever, instead of taking 3 seconds like it does on my other devices
