YouTube live streams failing again

This is a heads-up to the VLC team.

Some time ago YouTube live stream links entered into Open Nework Stream... were crashing VLC and we were advised to add files from version 4 to fix it. Well, I didn't do that but the problem went away, I'm using 3.0.16.

However, as from today YouTube live streams cannot be opened in Open Network Stream... - so I wonder if YouTube have made yet another change that needs to be catered for in VLC.

Both streams function properly on my system. In the first link we see an empty nest, but the treetop supporting it sways in the wind.

In the other link, Mum is feeding her chicks which is quite amusing watching the expression on the chick's face.

I suggest you reset preferences and then try again: https://wiki.videolan.org/VSG:ResetPrefs

Thank you very much, Hitchhiker, especially for taking the trouble to test the links - whichi I had to choose according to reliability, as these cams often "go down" due to rural conditions.

However, resetting Preferences (2 ways) has made no difference apart from leaving me with the unusable default interface and all my settings lost. Next I'll try uninstall/reinstall but can't do that yet because VLC requires a reboot and that requires me shutting down ongoing tasks.

Update - What a mystery indeed - it fixed itself again
