VLC Gui Not Visible When Launched From Task Scheduler
Posted: 18 May 2021 05:30
I am running Windows 10 up to date and use a 3rd party piece of software called System Scheduler Pro which is essentially an interface to the Task Scheduler and creates tasks there. I have several tasks (streaming radio) that I run on a timer during the day, and most of the time, the VLC Gui is not accessible. Sometimes it is, but mostly it's not and I haven't figured out what causes it to go one way or the other.
The tasks are running on a remote laptop that I only access through Remote Desktop. I've tried all the different options for having the task logged in with user privs and that doesn't seem to make a difference. Sometimes the tasks run when I am not accessing the machine remotely, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
The tasks complete successfully and the streaming works and I can see VLC running via the Task Manager, but there is no GUI.
Does anyone know why or how to fix this?
Thanks,
Peter
