Screen record messed up

When I screen record using VLC, the video file it outputs has the speed really fast (at least x5) and no audio. I tried with caching 300ms and 3000ms, and I even tried 60 frames per second.
Would anyone know how to make VLC screen recording work properly?
Thank you.

Using the Desktop mode (screen) vlc can record video only, or audio only, but not both at the same time.

And how do I make the video output not messed up?

The tutorial's about video playback. My question is about the actual file properties that the screen recording outputs.

OK, then comparing what you're doing with the tutorial I linked to should provide the answer to your question.

I'm not sure what you mean since the tutorial has nothing to do with what I'm asking about.

Something you're doing is causing vlc to accelerate the output right? What I'm suggesting is you follow the tutorial and determine whether the same thing happens or not.

But since the tutorial speaks not about screen recording, what's the connection?

Sigh.....
Open prefs and click All at the bottom of the opening menu. In the Search field top left type: Input and then click Input / codecs when it appears below. In the right hand panel under the heading Playback Control ---> Playback Speed set it to default which is 1.0. Save, exit and restart vlc.
The above is contained in the tutorial I linked to which I guess you didn't bother to read....

...set it to default which is 1.0.
Just checked. It already was like that.

Thank you.
Will see if it solves it.
