Is there any way I can stop VLC from going into my Start menu's recently launched programs?
Example: every time I load VLC, this appears:

1. I don't want it there.
2. I don't use skins mode, I just use regular VLC.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

That's the so called "Recently Used Programs list". ;)

Right-click on it - Delete from List.

You can also increase or decrease the number of entries in the "Recently Used Programs list". If you don’t want any entries in the list, use the "Clear List" button and set the "Number of Programs on the Start Menu" to zero.

Click Start - right-click on free space in the start menu - Properties - Customize.

I know.
I don't want to right click>delete every time VLC loads.
I want it gone for good.

TweakUI will take care of programs showing up in the recently used list.

Run TweakUI for Windows XP
Click Taskbar
Click XP Start Menu
Unclick the program you wish not to show up.

First thing I do when I install Windows is install Tweak UI. Never thought to look there, so thank you!
It did work, but VLC is not in the list.
For anyone who wants what I want, the entry in that list you need to un-check is "Reset VLC defaults and quit"

Again, thank you.
