Nero Encoded MPEG-4 AVC 5.1 Audio problem

Postby Spiff0x0 » 05 Jan 2006 22:24

I have been ripping my DVD collection to AVC MPEG-4 with Nero and VLC handles video playback fine. The problem is with the 5.1 AAC audio stream. Something is wrong either with the reading of the stream or with the wieghting of the channels on downmix to 2. The sound just isn't right. When I compare the DVD 5.1 sound through 2 channels to the VLC output it is all wrong. Kind of like VLC is totally missing a couple of channels of audio. The problem isn't with the file because when I play it through Nero Showtime I get the proper sound.

Sorry if this isn't as scientific as it needs to be, but I would appreciate some advice.

Thanks for all of the great work!!!

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate the info.

Is that something that there will be effort to fix, or is it not a priority?
